The CBI is regarded as the most influential business membership organisation in the UK, representing over 190,000 businesses on key political issues such as Brexit, the growing skills gap and renewing the country’s infrastructure, to name but a few.
The sudden advancement of the global COVID-19 pandemic left many businesses in the UK with a great deal of uncertainty about the future. As the true voice of Business in the UK, the CBI needed our help to respond rapidly on-site to organise and present the necessary information and guidance produced by the experts at the CBI.
Within hours, we switched on the best specialists for the project which comprised an experienced team of designers and developers who immediately got to work producing a Coronavirus Business Hub. We had to integrate multiple content formats whilst ensuring the hub was robust to accommodate the anticipated high volumes of traffic and enhanced measures to resist possible cyber attacks due to the important nature to advise UK businesses.
Within days, we developed the content hub that was able to provide a wide range of information to support businesses across the UK with valuable advice during an incredibly difficult time. The new hub was a massive success with huge spikes of traffic leading to a 180% increase of visitors. This was largely due to the Government referring businesses to visit the CBI site during Prime Minister speeches to seek further assistance.
Within just a few weeks of launching, over 9,500 business leaders from all over the UK have tuned in to the daily online webinars. As well as over 3,000 questions being answered by industry experts from UK Finance, British Business Bank, HM Treasury and from CBI members. As a result, CBI has also been able to communicate these business concerns directly into the heart of government, supporting several government schemes, including the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, the Coronavirus Business Interruption Scheme, and the Bank of England’s COVID-19 Corporate Financing Facility.
